Design and validation of a port crane

The engineering task of designing and testing an harbour crane always represents a particularly challenging and stimulating project, since it requires specific attention not only with regards to the machine and its functioning, but also in connection to the various stages of assembly and transportation.

Therefore, we considered different aspects, relevant to the project completion and to the customer's satisfaction:

• the design of the machinery;
• the test of the structure, for normal functionalities;
• the transportation issue: the crane was considerably large, fully assembled in its own production site, therefore we provided transportation by ship and later we placed it in our place of work.
